Reaper® 472 Camshaft Overview
The Reaper 472 camshaft serves as an excellent all-around bolt-in option for 114–117ci oil-cooled M8 engines using a 4.5″ stroke. While it produces a strong bottom end, it also delivers substantial power gains above 2,900 RPM compared to stock. As a result, riders experience stronger mid-range pull and sharper throttle response.
Furthermore, the 472 cam responds exceptionally well to increased bore, higher compression, aftermarket exhaust systems, and high-flow air cleaners. Although performance valve springs are not required, upgraded springs can create a quieter and smoother valvetrain. Therefore, Feuling recommends valve spring kits #1107 or #1108 for riders seeking additional refinement.

Oil Level & Installation Notes
Do not overfill the oil tank. Instead, set the oil level at 90–99% full when hot. Because the M8 oil pickup sits on the right side of the engine, oil levels change if the bike idles on the kickstand.
Therefore, check oil levels after riding the bike to operating temperature and shutting it off while upright. This process ensures an accurate reading and prevents overfilling.
Important Installation Information
An experienced mechanic must install this kit using a factory service manual and proper tools. Before installation, measure crankshaft runout and end play to confirm engine health.

If measurements exceed these specifications, stop the installation immediately to avoid engine damage and warranty issues.
