Description
Feuling 7251 HP+ Reaper 465 Chain Drive Camchest Kit for Oil-Cooled M8 Models
The Feuling 7251 HP+ Reaper 465 Chain Drive Camchest Kit delivers a complete, top-to-bottom camchest solution for oil-cooled Milwaukee-Eight (M8) engines. Instead of mixing components, this all-in-one kit ensures every part works together in total harmony. As a result, engine builders achieve maximum reliability, improved oil control, and consistent performance gains.
Because Feuling engineers each component to function as a system, this camchest kit removes guesswork from the ordering process while helping engines run cooler and smoother under real-world riding conditions.
Key Performance Benefits
This camchest kit improves oil management and engine efficiency in several important ways:
-
First, it delivers quieter and smoother engine operation
-
Additionally, it increases oil pressure, scavenge volume, and overall oil flow
-
Compared to stock, it provides 27% more pressure and scavenge gear volume
-
Furthermore, matched port sizing increases scavenge volume by 42%
-
At the same time, oil delivery to the crankshaft and rod bearings increases by 68%
-
Consequently, engine temperatures drop by 15–25 degrees
-
Likewise, oil temperatures reduce by 15–30 degrees
-
Oil pressure typically rises by 10–30 PSI
-
As a result, wet sumping, blow-by, and oily air cleaners are reduced
-
Built-in oil pump magnets help protect gears and the pressure relief valve
-
Dyno testing shows 2 HP and 2 ft-lbs of torque gains at the rear wheel
-
Most importantly, Feuling testing confirms a 50% reduction in engine sump oil level
HP+® Series Components
The HP+® Series forms the foundation of this camchest kit. Each component uses premium materials and precision machining to improve durability and oiling efficiency.
This kit includes:
-
A billet 6061 aluminum high-volume oil pump
-
A FEULING® HIGH FLOW billet camplate
-
HP+® hydraulic roller lifters
-
A complete cam installation kit
Together, these components improve oil circulation, reduce internal friction, and support long-term engine reliability.
Reaper® 465 Camshaft Performance
The Reaper 465 camshaft acts as an accelerator cam, delivering strong bottom-end response while producing noticeable gains above 2,800 RPM. Compared to stock, it provides improved throttle response without sacrificing everyday rideability.
Notably:
-
It installs as a direct bolt-in replacement for M8 engines
-
It works with stock valve springs, pushrods, lifters, and exhaust
-
It responds especially well to slip-on mufflers and performance exhaust systems
-
While performance valve springs are optional, they can further improve smoothness
-
Additionally, the cam performs exceptionally well with increased bore or compression

Oil Level Setup Guidelines
Proper oil level plays a critical role in engine performance. Therefore, do not overfill the oil tank.
Feuling recommends running the oil level 90%–99% full when hot. Because the M-Eight oil pickup port sits on the right side of the engine, warming the bike on the kickstand can skew oil level readings.
To achieve an accurate oil level:
-
First, check the oil level when cold
-
Next, ride the bike until it reaches operating temperature
-
Then, shut the bike off while it remains upright
-
After that, place it on the kickstand and recheck the level
-
Finally, add or remove oil as needed
Installation Requirements (Must Read)
This camchest kit requires installation by an experienced mechanic with access to a factory service manual and proper tools.
Before installation:
-
Measure flywheel pinion shaft runout and end play
-
Maintain end play between 0.003”–0.004”
-
Keep crankshaft runout at 0.003” or less
If measurements exceed these limits, do not install the camplate or oil pump. Otherwise, engine damage may occur and the manufacturer’s warranty may be voided.
Tuning Recommendation
For best results, Feuling strongly recommends using a ThunderMax AutoTune System if the bike does not already have an aftermarket tuner. However, if a ThunderMax system is already installed, a recommended base map can be provided with purchase.
