Feuling Vented Dipstick for Harley M8 Softail Models
The Feuling Vented Dipstick helps control oil blow-by on Harley-Davidson® M8 Softail motorcycles. Oil blow-by occurs when excess pressure forces oil out through the intake, creating a mess and, in severe cases, spraying oil onto the rider. This dipstick gives that pressure a controlled escape path before it causes problems.
When pressure builds in the oil tank or pan, it pushes oil toward the engine. That extra oil makes it harder for the sump side of the oil pump to scavenge and return oil properly. By venting pressure at the oil fill location, this dipstick helps keep oil where it belongs and supports more consistent oil circulation.
Feuling originally designed this vented dipstick to address common Milwaukee-Eight issues, including wet sumping. The internal one-way rubber umbrella valve—borrowed from proven Twin Cam designs—releases pressure while preventing air or oil from flowing back into the system. Excess pressure vents through a relief port and exits through the umbrella valve and breather filter.
